Does this personal relationship give these businesses an advantage over others in their markets? With me it does and I believe it should with you too regardless if you are selling or buying products and services. It isn’t just about price and quality anymore. It is also about getting service and about having a relationship. Whether we contract for services, shop for products online or in the store, more and more of us shop most where we are recognized as a loyal customer. When we have this relationship, we know this business has gone beyond satisfying us and are now providing us a unique service. And as importantly they are now one of our trusted friends. You can bet I am going to do business over and over again with them so long as they continue to treat me as a friend and provide quality services that I need.

The formula is clear if we choose to use it, once we provide the best product or service we must then make the offer personal and remarkable. The market interaction that we desire will then happen as you begin to share and talk about your product with your partners, peers and friends. They will take care of the market interaction itself. We, as businesses and individuals can’t control this interaction. We can only setup the variables that may possibly start this business growing interaction.

Offering what is an extraordinary product is the only element in our control. And I believe, the primary element that will generate great success in the future. As our customers look for and choose quality, convenience and cost, we must in turn choose to give them this within a consistently personal and remarkable way.
