Astana Kazakhstan and Its Remarkable Buildings

It’s time to visit Kazakhstan! The capital will astound you. Dubbed by CNN as the world’s weirdest capital, Astana seems like a playground of modern architecture. From a bird’s eye view, the profusion of uniquely designed edifices in different shapes, sizes and colors is itself worth the visit. From the ground, marvel at each point of interest, which are remarkably different from each other architecturally.

Perhaps the most iconic building in Astana is the Bayterek Monument. Nicknamed the Tree of Life, the Bayterek is an inspired work based on the Kazakh legend, where a tree of life grows on the World River bank and on its top is a nest of the Samruk, a holy bird of happiness. In this nest, the bird flies over to lay a golden egg. The Bayterek stands in the middle of the city at 97 meters high. For its creators, it is a tree with a big golden egg in a nest on its crown represented by a giant, wooden globe in shiny gold held by several petal-like structures. But for the locals, it simply is the giant Chupa Chups or lollipop as it does look like one.

Inside the tower are several entertainment facilities like aquariums, a gallery and a café perfect for a quick gastronomic respite. Try your best to get to the 86th floor as it offers the best 360-degree view of the city. A stroll around the tower is also delightful as you will be walking around geometrically arranged garden patches with flowers bursting in bright colors.

Another strikingly different and ultra-contemporary structure in the city is the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center. It looks like a tent in a monumental scale, whose base is bigger than 10 football stadiums. Thus it is often considered the world’s largest tent. It is transparent and such effect was achieved not by the use of plastic but a fabric stretched and suspended by series of cables. The transparent feature makes a perfect containment of multi-colored lights that make a dramatic effect on the structure when seen in the evening. The inside holds a park, a shopping center, squares, cobbled streets, a boating river, a mini golf, and an indoor beach resort.

Definitely eye-catching for its resemblance to the Louvre in Paris, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation also known as the Pyramid of Peace and Accord is another must-see, due to its structure and design as well as the idea and belief it stands for. It’s a 5- story glass pyramid where each triangle side measures about 12 meters. The upper two stories are interesting because of the flying dove design etched on them. When light passes through these doves, the reflections are truly magical. This unique structure and the ideaology that it was based on it to be admired and commended.

Every three years, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is held here. For the Kazakhs, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation represents and reinforces their belief that various religion, cultures and traditions can thrive side by side peacefully. Aside from the congress held in its oval hall, the palace also contains an opera house with a 1,500 seat capacity, a national museum of culture, a library and a research center devoted to the Kazakhstan’s ethnic and geographical groups.

Astana also astonishes visitors with its other magnificent buildings like the Presidential Palace that resembles the White House, the colorful Duman Center, and the Nur-Astana Mosque. Make sure to bring your camera and capture the remarkable Astana structures.

It Is Absolutely Advantageous For Our Businesses to Deliver Remarkable Quality and Convenience

Creating an extraordinary product and then sharing it openly generates something amazing. Suddenly, but almost never immediately, a head will turn, then another and then another. News about the product or service will begin to spread from person to person. As businesses, we strive to make this happen.

This what is now called “social sharing” of our product should be our goal as it brings success to our businesses. This sharing and interaction about our product is however simply out of our immediate control. Partners, friends and customers, regardless of our requests, will only interact based on the product itself, the excitement it generates, and the unique needs it satisfies. Therefore, the best use of our time and energy is on creating an extraordinary product and then making it’s offering of real personal value to our consumers. Almost too simple.

Start by thinking about your product or service from your customer’s viewpoint. Are you providing an extraordinary product or service? Is it convenient to purchase from you? Is your offer personal and extraordinary? What I am talking about is at the fundamental level of knowing who your customers are, what they buy from you now, and even more importantly what they will buy from you in the future. Ask yourself, “What businesses do you value the most? How many businesses do you buy from today really know you? And as importantly, would you miss these businesses and their products and services if for some reason they changed the way they did business?” Your business must function at a level and provide products and services at a level that is both personal and extraordinary as viewed and needed by your customers.

Does this personal relationship give these businesses an advantage over others in their markets? With me it does and I believe it should with you too regardless if you are selling or buying products and services. It isn’t just about price and quality anymore. It is also about getting service and about having a relationship. Whether we contract for services, shop for products online or in the store, more and more of us shop most where we are recognized as a loyal customer. When we have this relationship, we know this business has gone beyond satisfying us and are now providing us a unique service. And as importantly they are now one of our trusted friends. You can bet I am going to do business over and over again with them so long as they continue to treat me as a friend and provide quality services that I need.

The formula is clear if we choose to use it, once we provide the best product or service we must then make the offer personal and remarkable. The market interaction that we desire will then happen as you begin to share and talk about your product with your partners, peers and friends. They will take care of the market interaction itself. We, as businesses and individuals can’t control this interaction. We can only setup the variables that may possibly start this business growing interaction.

Offering what is an extraordinary product is the only element in our control. And I believe, the primary element that will generate great success in the future. As our customers look for and choose quality, convenience and cost, we must in turn choose to give them this within a consistently personal and remarkable way.

If you are one of these personal and remarkable businesses, openly share your products and expertise the next time you do business. Your partners, peers and friends are anxious and ready to talk about you.
